JOHN P. BARNES
John P. Barnes

John P. (Jack) Barnes is president and chief executive officer of People's United Bank.

Barnes joined People’s United Financial as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer following the acquisition of Chittenden Corporation in early 2008.  In this position, he managed Information Technology, Operations, Real Estate Services and Business Services. 

Barnes joined Chittenden Bank in 1983 as manager of Loan Review after five years with the FDIC - Boston. He became senior vice president and chief credit policy officer in 1988. In 1990 he was appointed division head of the Credit Policy and Administration division, which grew to include various support services areas. In 2002, Mr. Barnes was appointed executive vice president in charge of the newly formed Chittenden Services Group, which included IT, Operations and other centralized services for the corporation. 

He is a graduate of Northeastern University and received his MBA from the University of Vermont.


DAVID BODOR
David Bodor

David Bodor is Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of People's United Bank.

David is responsible for all People’s United Bank commercial and retail credit policies and asset quality. He chairs both the People’s United Bank Credit Policy Committee and the newly-established Senior Credit Committee, responsible for reviewing and approving over-limit transactions for the People’s United family of banks. He also oversees the banks’ appraisal management and commercial loan workout areas.

Bodor joined People’s United in 1996 from Centerbank, where he served as Senior Vice President and managed that bank’s Commercial Banking and the Specialized Finance Divisions. Prior to joining Centerbank, Bodor was Senior Vice President and Manager of Credit Administration at First Constitution Bank. Bodor spent the first 17 years of his banking career at Bank of Boston Connecticut, where he last served as Senior Vice President responsible for three regionally-located Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Appraisal, Collection and Mortgage Servicing Departments.

A graduate of Moravian College, Bodor earned his Master of Science in International Affairs at Boston University. He served as Captain, Military Intelligence, in the U.S. Army.

PAUL BURNER
Paul Burner

Paul D. Burner is Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of People's United Bank.

Burner has broad-based, extensive experience in diverse sectors of financial services, developed during his 29-year career at Citigroup. He has been involved in leading change, developing innovative solutions and has extensive acquisitions experience.

Prior to joining Peoples United, Burner served as CFO of Citibank North America and was involved in all aspects of the organization's $120 billion retail banking business serving consumer and commercial banking customers. As CFO, he was responsible for working across business areas to help drive change throughout the organization. He implemented a variety of income-driving and cost-saving initiatives, participated in significant decisions regarding acquisitions and divestitures, and improved business controls throughout the company.

During his career at Citigroup, Burner worked in a range of businesses and developed extensive capabilities in a variety of areas such as acquisitions, wealth management and treasury. His other past roles include Executive Vice President and Treasurer, Primerica Financial Services; Chief Operating Officer, Primerica Financial Services of Canada; Director of Funding and Assistant Treasurer, Commercial Credit Company; and Regional Director, Corporate Finance, Commercial Credit Company. He began his career at Coral Gables Federal Savings and Loan in Coral Gables, FL.

Burner has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Miami.


ROBERT R. D'AMORE
Robert R. D'Amore

Robert R. (Bob) D’Amore is a 27-year veteran at People’s United.  He is senior executive vice president of the retail and small business banking group and as such oversees the activities of the bank’s extensive branch network, consumer deposit products, and the residential and consumer lending areas.  D’Amore also directs the organization’s marketing function. 

Prior to joining People’s United Bank, D’Amore was a teacher in Milford and Hartford.  He received bachelors and masters degrees from Central Connecticut State University and completed the requirements for a sixth-year certificate in administration from Fairfield University.

D’Amore is a former board member for the Bushnell, the Greater Hartford Metro-Alliance and the Foundation of Catholic Schools Archdiocese of Hartford.  Bob lives in Glastonbury with his wife Pam, and is the father of two daughters.


BRIAN F. DREYER
Brian F. Dreyer

Brian F. Dreyer is senior executive vice president, Commercial Banking at People's United Bank. He is responsible for all commercial and industrial lending and commercial mortgage loans. He also oversees correspondent banking and international services.

As head of the Commercial Banking division, Dreyer also directs the management of People's Capital and Leasing Corp., an equipment financing company based in Waterbury.

Dreyer joined People's United Bank in 1991. Previously he was executive vice president and senior lending officer at First Constitution, responsible for that bank's Commercial Lending and Commercial Mortgage divisions. Prior to leading the First Constitution lending operations, he spent 19 years as senior vice president and manager for commercial lending at BankBoston, Connecticut, where he managed cash management and workout departments as well as five commercial lending regions.

Dreyer graduated from Boston University in 1968 and is a U.S. Army veteran.



DAVID NORTON
David Norton

David Norton is Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of People’s United Bank, responsible for all human resources functions, including Total Rewards, Staffing and Recruiting, Employee Relations, Learning & Development, HRIS, and Corporate Communications.

Before joining the bank, Norton was Senior Vice President, Human Resources, at The New York Times Co. where he was accountable for all human resources-related responsibilities for 10,000 employees.  Prior to that, Norton was charged with enterprise-wide human resources responsibilities at Starwood Hotels & Resorts and, earlier, at Frito Lay North America, a division of PepsiCo.  He began his career at The Quaker Oats Co.

Norton earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Northwestern University.



LOUISE SANDBERG
Louise

Louise Sandberg is senior executive vice president of the Wealth Management group.  Sandberg is responsible for People's Securities, Inc. retail brokerage; the Wealth Management and Trust department; as well as the People's United Insurance Agency.

Sandberg joined Chittenden Bank in 1977 as a customer service representative. Throughout her career, she has held positions of increasing responsibility including managing both community banking and business banking for Chittenden. Most recently, she was senior vice president, Personal Financial Management Services at Chittenden Bank.

She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont in Elementary Education and Psychology.

Sandberg is an active member in her community. She served as a board member for Porter Hospital for ten years, including two years as board chair. She also served on the Board for Addison County Home Health and Hospice.  Sandberg is presently on the Board of the Child Guidance Center of Greater Bridgeport.



CHANTAL SIMON
Chantel Simon

Chantal Simon is Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of People's United Bank.  She is responsible for overall risk management, including the internal audit, loan review and operational risk functions at People's United.

Prior to joining People's United, Simon spent 20 years at Merrill Lynch & Co.  Most recently, she was Chief Risk Officer of Merrill Lynch Bank USA (MLBUSA) and Head of Risk Management of the U.S. Regulated Bank Entities at Merrill Lynch.  In this role, she oversaw the risk management of MLBUSA, Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust, FSB and Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust, Cayman Island.  Prior to that role, she was a Managing Director in Investment Banking in High Yield Origination and she was Head of the Loan Portfolio Group.

Simon holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Applied Mathematics from Brown University and a MBA from Harvard Business School.


 

ROBERT E. TRAUTMANN
Robert E. Trautmann

Robert E. Trautmann is executive vice president and general counsel of People's United Bank and People's United Financial, Inc. He is responsible for the direction of the bank's legal operation and legislative affairs. 

Prior to joining People's United, Trautmann was with the corporate securities and banking groups of the New Haven law firm of Tyler Cooper and Alcorn. Previously, he was with the New York City law firms of Shea & Gould and Olwine, Connelly, Chase, O'Donnell and Weyher.

Trautmann holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. and a law degree from Washington University School of Law. He was editor-in-chief of the Washington University Law Review while in law school. He is a member of the Connecticut and New York bars.
