People's United Online is designed using state-of-the-art technology to make it fast, simple, and reliable, so you can manage your finances without worrying about technical issues. If however, you are experiencing problems using People's United Online, we want to help you resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Account Information

Can't reach Login screen
If you are unable to access the Login screen, this may be due to transient conditions on the Internet or with your Internet Service Provider (Comcast, Optimum Online, Charter, AOL, , etc). Some web browsers do not support the high level of security used by People's United. In addition, some PC and Mac web browsers need to manually enable their support for SSL 3 (a more advanced security setting found under Security in your web browser). Can't Login
Enter your profile username. Click Login. Then, on the next screens, verify your login watermark and enter your password. Click signon.  If you are still having trouble it may be due to:

1. Mis-typed Profile Name and Profile Password
Pleas be advised that People's United  Online passwords are case sensitive.

2. Profile Locked-Out
For your protection, your profile will be locked out after three invalid login attempts. To have your password reset, please contact customer service or visit your local branch.

3. Safari Browser
If you are consistently experiencing issues inputting your username, password, or editing any of your user information:

There is a known issue for Mac users with the Safari Internet browser, version 2.0.4. Customers using this browser may experience difficulty typing user information directly into web site forms. The issue is not limited to People's United Bank and is known to affect other popular web sites (such as Google's Gmail and Calendar). Future updates to the Safari browser should correct this issue. In the meantime, we recommend that customers using a Mac download and use the Firefox browser.

To reset or unlock your People's Securities Inc. (PSI) brokerage account, call:

To reset or unlock your People's United Bank Credit Card account, call:

  • Credit Card Customer Service at 1-888-736-7537 and press 11

 

Do you need a Brokerage Enrollment Code?
People's Securities customers who have never used online brokerage services, need to acquire a Brokerage Enrollment Code (BEC). To get a BEC please call People's Securities at (800) 392-3009.

Account or Payment information is not updated
If you have just paid a bill, or transferred funds, and have received a confirmation number, but the transactions are not showing in your account history or Pending Payments section of your Bill Pay screen, there are a few possible causes.

  • It is after business hours - Your transaction history will not reflect all of your transactions during non-business hours (when People's United is not open). Your history will be updated to show all transactions at the start of the next banking day.
  • Your browser's cache file is corrupted - The majority of web browsers store local copies of images and web pages you view on the internet, to improve performance. When you click on a link to view your history or bill payments, your browser may be inadvertently pulling an "old" copy of your history from cache, instead of retrieving an updated version from People's United. If this occurs, we recommend that you logout, then clear (delete) your cache file and then retrieve the information again. For information on how to clear your browser's cache, refer to documentation or help file which came with your browser.

 

How do I logoff?
Selecting the "sign off" link on the top right hand corner of the screen. This will end your session and log you out of People's United Online Banking.
