PEOPLE’S UNITED FINANCIAL, INC. THIRD QUARTER 2009 EARNINGS CONFERENCE CALL SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2009

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. -People’s United Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ: PBCT) announced today it will host a conference call on Friday, October 16, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time to discuss its third quarter 2009 earnings announcement.  People’s United Financial will release its third quarter financial results on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at approximately 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The call will be broadcast live through the company’s Internet site, peoples.com.
